Black Rock Beach House is located in Ucluelet on Vancouver Island, off of Canada's West Coast.
Vancouver Island is accessible by both ferry and airplane. Ferries depart from Washington State, Tsawwassen (South of Vancouver), and Horseshoe Bay (North of Vancouver).
Air travel options include scheduled service and charters from Vancouver and Victoria via Orca Airways, and Seattle via Sound Flight. From Vancouver, flights take approximately 45 minutes and depart from the South Terminal of Vancouver International Airport. Taxi service to the Black Rock Beach House is available from the Tofino Long Beach Airport.
Whether driving or taking a bus, the road from Nanaimo (on the east side of Vancouver Island) is one of the most spectacular in the world. Travel north on Highway #19 for 43 km (26 miles), take Exit 60 onto Highway #4
(also known as the Pacific Rim Highway) heading west for 156 km (97 miles). You will drive through spectacular Cathedral Grove, historic Port Alberni (drive straight downhill and turn right at the junction), and around beautiful Sproat and Kennedy Lakes. Travel westward until you come to the junction between Tofino and Ucluelet. Turn left at the Tofino/Ucluelet junction and drive south towards Ucluelet for 8 km (5 miles).
Follow the main road into Ucluelet (Pacific Rim Highway which becomes Peninsula Road), turn right on Matterson Drive and left on Marine Drive. By now, you will have a fabulous view of the wild Pacific Ocean. Black Rock Beach House is located at 524 Marine Drive.
