Vancouver
Island is accessible by both ferry and airplane. Ferries depart
from Washington State, Tsawwassen (South of Vancouver), and
Horseshoe Bay (North of Vancouver).
Air travel options include
scheduled service and charters from Vancouver and Victoria via
Orca Airways, and Seattle via Sound Flight. From Vancouver,
flights take approximately 45 minutes and depart from the South
Terminal of Vancouver International Airport. Taxi service to the
Black Rock Beach House is available from the Tofino Long Beach
Airport.

The Pacific Rim
Whether driving or taking a
bus, the road from Nanaimo (on the east side of Vancouver
Island) is one of the most spectacular in the world. Travel
north on Highway #19 for 43 km (26 miles), take Exit 60 onto
Highway #4
(also known as the Pacific Rim Highway) heading west for 156 km
(97 miles). You will drive through spectacular Cathedral Grove,
historic Port Alberni (drive straight downhill and turn right at
the junction), and around beautiful Sproat and Kennedy Lakes.
Travel westward until you come to the junction between Tofino
and Ucluelet. Turn left at the Tofino/Ucluelet junction and
drive south towards Ucluelet for 8 km (5 miles).
Black Rock Beach House
Follow the main road into
Ucluelet (Pacific Rim Highway which becomes Peninsula Road),
turn right on Matterson Drive and left on Marine Drive. By now,
you will have a fabulous view of the wild Pacific Ocean. Black
Rock Beach House is located at 524 Marine Drive.
